Caterpillar Semi Truck Parts & Accessories

Semi Truck Parts & Accessories

Caterpillar is renowned the world over as one of the leading manufacturers of construction and mining equipment, engines, and machinery. It was formed in 1925, marking the merger between the Holt Manufacturing Company and C. L. Best Tractor Company. However, its roots date back to the late 1800s when Benjamin Holt ventured into modernizing steam tractors. His innovative continuous track revolutionized the construction sector and was patented in 1907. So equipped, tractors seemed to crawl like caterpillars, hence the company’s name. In 1909, Holt purchased a plant in Illinois and sold his first steam tractor.

Since Caterpillar was founded, its heavy equipment has been serving the toughest industries. The brand’s reliable machines took part in the construction of America’s greatest engineering projects, including the Golden Gate Bridge and the Grand Coulee Dam. The Caterpillar history abounds in multiple achievements through improvements in production processes, new partnerships, acquisitions, and expansion into new markets. In 2011, Cat entered the on-highway vocational truck building business. Although it wasn’t long that the company was manufacturing trucks, its offerings are strong performers which help get the job done the first time, every time, just like anything else made by Caterpillar.

The first Class 8 truck developed by Cat for the American market is the CT660. It can be configured for a variety of applications as a concrete mixing truck, a refuse carrier, heavy hauler for interstate delivery, etc. It was built in cooperation with Navistar, and while many consider it to be a rebadged International, it has many unique Caterpillar accessories and parts. It is powered by Caterpillar’s proprietary engines, namely, the CT11 rated at 330 - 390 hp and CT13 good for 410 - 470 hp. The power-shift CX31 transmission is also built by Cat, while Eaton’s manual and UltraShift Plus automated options are available. Renowned for its reliable, heavy-duty suspensions, the company used this experience in the CT660 as well. The front features a multi-leaf setup, while the rear is suspended by Hendrickson or Chalmers systems. The interior is built with the driver’s safety, productivity, and convenience in mind. Telematics services are enabled by Cat’s in-house Product Link system.

The Cat CT680 was set to extend the company’s product line with a high-power, high-torque set-forward axle rig designed to haul hefty loads. The Cat CT681 also features a forward-set axle but is aimed at a non-premium segment, with a less powerful engine and less decorative trim. There are some other models designed for export, including the CT610 and CT630 that went to the Australian market. Regardless of the model, Cat’s trucks are engineered to cope with anything you throw at them, but that’s also sufficient wear and tear that comes with heavy-duty everyday use. You can considerably reduce downtime by servicing your rig on time using quality Caterpillar truck parts. We have a broad selection of Caterpillar accessories and parts from renowned aftermarket makers for any kind of job starting with mild customization all the way up to complete engine overhauls.
