The laminated rubber-core shim is heat and pressure cured between two layers of steel. This process ensures the highest quality bonding of the rubber to steel resulting in lower noise, increased strength, and corrosion resistance
Sound vibrations pass through the friction material and backing plate, but are dissipated by the unique rubber core in the shim for remarkable noise dampening
At the time of pressing, heat, adhesive and pressure mold the multi-layer shim to the backing plate and friction material creating an integrally molded unit
Shim stays attached throughout the life of the pad; won’t walk or slide on the backing plate

This new product line offers 143 brake pads (33 Ceramic and 110 semi-metallic). Bosch Severe Duty just got better with optimal all-around braking performance. Bosch® new brake pads use Advanced Aerospace Alloy Transfer Layer Technology in their friction formulas that have the best-in-class performance, quiet operation and long life. This line provides the best performance for the most popular European vehicles on the road in North America, such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, VW, Volvo, Saab, etc. EuroLine Pads utilize fine blank steel backing plates where available with minimal burrs on the corners and edges. As with European OE pads, the shims are thermo-bonded and wrap around the pad when applicable.
