No vehicle needs premium audio and electronics more than a commercial truck. A typical truck driver spends many hours behind the wheel and is sometimes on the road for days at a time, and if you’re one of these road warriors the quality audio and video entertainment that our products deliver can have a positive effect on your quality of life. A truck’s cabin is also a business office, and with our electronics products you can conduct business with customers and associates and stay in touch with family and friends right from the road. And along with keeping you entertained and connected, we also offer navigation gear to show the most efficient way to your destination, and security and convenience electronics for theft protection and vehicle operating ease.
The audio systems in even some of the best vehicles are built to a price, but the brands we offer are under no such constraints. They specialize in mobile audio systems and build components with one goal in mid: to bring you the best sound quality possible. With our selection of stereo receivers there are several ways to get that great sound. We offer receivers that play CDs as well as digital media players if you only want to stream or download music, receivers that have USB inputs to connect to iPod/iPhone and Android devices, as well as units with Bluetooth that can be wirelessly paired with your cell phone, so you can stream music from any audio source, and have hands-free calling. Some can display text messages on screen, and, when used with compatible phones, allow you to make calls, hear text messages, and get directions using voice commands.
Some of the newest receivers feature MirrorLink connectivity, where everything that appears on your smartphone interface also appears on the receiver’s touchscreen. Many of our receivers can play DVDs on their large touchscreen displays. Although most are double DIN, there are also single DIN units with detachable or flip up monitors. These screens are great for entertainment, but many have an input for a rearview camera, so the screen will display what’s behind you when backing up. We also offer receivers equipped with navigation, which is updatable via smartphone. These can display detailed maps and turn by turn directions on the screen. Large touchscreens are also easier to read when driving, and more information can be displayed on the screen than on a typical receiver. For example, when coupled with Bluetooth you can see caller ID, and if you have HD or satellite radio, you can see station lists with the type of broadcast they offer.
You can get better sound quality by replacing your truck’s speakers. We offer both full range and component speakers in a wide range of sizes and wattage. Full range speakers come in 2-way or 3-way versions. 2-way speakers, also known as coaxial speakers, have a woofer for low, bass tones, and a tweeter for high notes. 3-way speakers have a mid-range driver in addition to a woofer and tweeter. Full range speakers are ideal for replacing factory speakers and they’re also a good choice if you have limited space to mount speakers, and when you want a sound upgrade with a minimum of effort. Component speakers are separate speakers designed to be used within a system. Typically, a component system has two tweeters, two woofers, and a crossover. The crossover is wired in between the amplifier and speakers, and its function is to separate the high and low frequencies and send them to the appropriate speakers, thereby reducing distortion. If you have the mounting space, component systems allow you to position the speakers within the cabin for superior sound quality.
If your music doesn’t sound right to you unless you hear and feel thumping bass tones, we have the amplifiers and subwoofers that will deliver the decibels. We offer individual subwoofers that are ready to mount, subwoofers in enclosures, amplified, also called powered subwoofers, and bass packages that include the subwoofer and a separate amplifier. We also have individual amplifiers with power ratings from 200W to 3000W and beyond, and with channels to suit the number of speakers including mono amplifiers for subwoofers, and 2-channel, 3-channel, 4-channel, and 5-channel amps. In addition to the above, you’ll find other features in many of our amplifiers, like filters and bass boost. A high pass filter removes low frequencies, so the amplifier is only boosting the high frequencies sent to small speakers for high notes, while the low pass filter takes out the high frequencies, such as would be common when powering a subwoofer. Variable filters allow you to select the frequency to be filtered. Variable bass boost control allows you to increase the bass level to tailor the sound quality. And for hardcore audiophiles we also have a large selection of equalizers, crossovers, and bass restoration processors so you can fine tune your sound.
To help you get the most from your stereo system we also have power cells and capacitors to handle the additional power draw, and power converters that convert house current into 12 volts DC, so they can provide power to your stereo and any other 12V DC components when the engine is off. Our video monitors aren’t just for entertainment. Although many come with built-in DVD players and can be wirelessly connected to your smartphone, so you can stream video, we also have monitors that can receive input from as many as 4 cameras, so you can see what’s going on around your truck. We have headrest monitors, units that flip down, sun visor monitors, and multimedia monitors that can be mounted anywhere.
Don’t trust the security of something as valuable as your truck to locks and mechanical devices that can be easily defeated by professional thieves. We have the sophisticated security systems that will protect your property and provide conveniences like keyless entry and remote start. Features will vary according to system, but most include remote transmitters that double as key fobs, a control module, and siren. When the system is armed, if a thief tries to open the door or punch out a lock, the alarm will be triggered, and the horn may sound and the lights will flash as well. Some systems also have glass break sensors, proximity sensors, and tilt sensors, and the starter may be disabled when the system is armed. We also offer standalone keyless entry and remote start systems, as well as GPS tracking systems that can help recover your truck if it’s stolen. Via a transmitter hidden on the truck, the vehicle can be located on a map displayed on a video screen. Some systems even have a starter disable feature. These systems are perfect for fleet owners to keep track of drivers. You can see route history and set up notifications if the vehicle exceeds preselected speed limits or drives out of preselected zones. Some also have a door unlock feature in case the truck is locked with the key left inside.
Truck drivers need to know where they’re going, right down to which lane they need to be in, traffic conditions, and the locations of places like truck stops. Semi trucks aren’t like cars that can be easily turned around if a turn is missed, they can only be parked and refuel in certain facilities, and since time is money and getting to your destination is paramount, an alternate route that can avoid a traffic snarl is invaluable. We offer standalone GPS units with easy-to-read touchscreens up to 7”. They come preloaded with maps, and many include lifetime map updates. Most units provide voice guidance and the more advanced models include spoken street names in the directions. Some offer realistic birds-eye views of junctions and 3D views of the surroundings to help point you in the right direction, as well as lane guidance with voice prompts to make sure you’re in the right place to make a turn. Traffic alerts are provided with some navigators, so you can avoid congestion, and this feature is frequently free for life. Some of our navigators are Bluetooth compatible, so you can make and receive calls hands-free, and select units feature voice-activated navigation. Plus, we have units that allow you to log your hours and record your travels with a built-in dash cam.
Our installation products take the hassle out of installing all this audio and electronics gear. We have stereo dash kits for clean receiver installations; speaker adapters, grilles, and acoustic baffles; subwoofer boxes and enclosures; wiring harnesses and connectors that simplify connecting aftermarket stereos to factory wiring; radio replacement interface harnesses that allow you to retain steering wheel audio controls; spools of wire in a range of gauges for custom installations, as well as many sizes and styles of terminals and connectors, fuses and fuse holders, and tubing and clamps for a clean installation; and components like line-out converters, noise filters, and audio splitters. And you can make sure that all your electronic devices are clearly visible and within easy reach with selections from our large collection of mounts and stands. We have mounts for tablets, laptops, smartphones and GPS units including heavy-duty vehicle specific laptop mounts designed for law enforcement, fleets, and use over rough roads; skid proof dashboard friction mounts; windshield suction cup mounts; and mounts that attach to cupholders and vents.
