Product Details
Copper Plus Spark Plug by Champion®. Built with nickel alloy center and ground electrodes, these spark plugs provide extra durability for long-lasting service life, while the extrusion of copper into the core of their center electrode allows for an increase in conductivity and heat control to ensure reliable and dependable performance.
Features
- Dependable and durable
- Built to ISO and SAE standards for proven performance
- Patented SAC-9 semi-conductor resistor for maximum EMI & RFI suppression
- TinTac and ULTRASEAL shell for best corrosion protection of any spark plug in the industry
A properly designed spark plug takes the high voltage generated by the ignition coil and creates the spark needed to jump across the gap and start combustion. It also seals the combustion chamber and transfers the heat it picks up in the combustion process to the cylinder head and into the cooling system. When a spark plug provides these three basic functions, it is then capable of initiating and sustaining the combustion process thus ensuring effective engine operation. To make these spark plugs meet these requirements as well as provide superior performance and long life, Champion engineers employed a vast amount of technology into the design and manufacturing process.
To meet OE standards and specifications, these spark plugs are made of premium quality materials and are also tested to ensure they deliver a consistently focused spark that optimizes performance. Champion engineers also use thermocouple spark plugs to read electrode temperatures and the engine expertise of Federal-Mogul engine research centers to determine the proper heat range for each application and ensure that these products meet the requirements of your vehicle.
These spark plugs by Champion have been used as OE parts on a number of engines for many years. This is mostly because of their good wear characteristics caused by a nickel alloy center and ground electrodes. The plugs also provide improved conductivity and heat control thanks to the extrusion of copper into the core of the center electrode. In addition, these spark plugs can be used extensively in non-automotive applications, such as lawn and garden as well as power equipment.
For over 110 years, Champion® has been a world leader in the manufacture of spark plugs for a wide range of cars, SUVs, trucks, racing, and marine applications. Using the latest technology, from iridium and precious metal technologies, to F.I.S.S. resistor (Fired In Suppressor Seal) technology and MLR (Metal alloy Low ohm Resistor) technology, the company develops, engineers, and manufactures spark plugs in a number of materials and designs. Champion also offers a variety of glow plugs, spark plug wires, and other ignition system specific wiring that meet the industry’s toughest standards.
