LuK supplies clutch master cylinders with plastic housings. The cylinders are fixed in the vehicle by means of a central bayonet in the center of the housing or by means of axial or lateral flange screw connections. The special design of the seals and mating surfaces with optimized tribological characteristics means no disruptive actuation noise is generated and the friction remains consistently low. Self-retaining and removable detent pins are used to fix the piston rod to the pedal, which prevent wear in the piston rod eye. The pressure connection is matched to LuK clutch lines and uses a quick-release connector. The refill lines to the reservoir can either be supplied as a rubber hose, smooth plastic tubing or corrugated tubing and are included individually or preassembled. For protection against harsh environmental conditions, the cylinder can be fitted with a dust shield and a particle filter in the refill line connection.
LuK® is a leading manufacturer of the systems and components for vehicle's powertrains. It was the first company in Europe which engineered the diaphragm spring clutch with a release system which is now installed in every third new car. At present the company manufactures dampers, components for clutch systems, transmissions, as well as products for tractors. The newest innovative product developments of LuK are the automation of manual transmissions, torque converters, and components for CVT transmissions that could handle more than 300 Nm of torque.
