Engine Coolant Recovery Tank (SD-DEGAS-7.3) by Sinister Diesel®. Finish: Blue. Sinister Diesel's new Coolant Reservoir is made from 6061 aircraft grade aluminum which is TIG welded and pressure tested for maximum strength. This fabrication method makes Sinister’s tank significantly stronger than factory tanks which are molded from two plastic pieces which are sealed together causing stress, cracking and leaking. In addition, aluminum dissipates heat in the coolant system, improving performance and longevity. Sinister’s Coolant Reservoir uses a the factory cap (upgraded caps are available!) and features sight glass for easy level inspection. It is a direct, bolt in replacement for your stock reservoir and can be installed with basic tools in less than 30 minutes.
On new installations of a Sinister Diesel CAT Coolant Filter, they recommend replacement of the first filter at 500 miles and replacement of the second and third filters after 3,000 miles each. After three filter changes, replacement can be done once a year.
What do you get when a group of diesel, truck and 4x4 off-road enthusiasts get together with a dream of changing the automotive aftermarket industry? You get Sinister Diesel. Founders Brian George, Michael Mitchell and their whole team share a love of everything diesel. One afternoon, while working on Brian’s truck they thought of starting a new company. Sinister Diesel® actually started out as MKM Customs. So, why the switch to the Sinister name? It appeals to Brian and Mike because they feel it captures the spirit of the diesel lifestyle. “The spirit of diesel truckers is like our own,” Brian says. “A little bit rebel. Of course, we don’t all live a rebel lifestyle, but we all share that spirit. The name Sinister captures that spirit perfectly.”
