Semi-Metallic Semi-Metallic Front Brake Pads (2311-0826-00) by R1 Concepts®. Semi-Metallic Series brake pads are specifically designed for colder climates and provide one of the best entry-level brake pads for most vehicles. Semi-metallic brake pads are comprised primarily of resin and 30 to 65 percent metal, creating a strong, secure amalgam that will stand the test of time. In the past, many of these semi-metallic brake pads were comprised of asbestos. Naturally, this could be very dangerous to environmental health. Semi-Metallic brake pads are completely asbestos free, making them both safe as well as long-lasting. The resin and metal composition of these brake pads make them ideal for high wear situations - and the cost just can't be beat.

Semi-Metallic brake pads are generally recommended for areas that have cold climates, such as European areas or areas to the north. These brake pads are less likely to be affected by the cold and are generally faster to brake than ceramic brakes. This can make them perfect for heavy vehicles, european vehicles, and industrial applications or equipment. Ceramic brakes tend to brake a bit slower but tend to ease into the brake more. Metallic brake pads are often favored by those who like to maintain complete control of their vehicles or who like to drive more aggressively.
Compared to ceramic brakes,Semi-Metallic brake pads may produce more dust and be a little louder. However, the semi-metallic brake pads will still be extremely durable and will provide a very inexpensive and reliable alternative. In general, semi-metallic brakes tend to be less expensive than ceramic brakes and are still suited to a very wide range of applications. R1 Concepts Semi-Metallic Series Brake Pads are environmentally friendly and adhere to the low copper requirements under California and Washington restrictions for 2021/2025.
